It's a cultural thing,where the child is brought up as a part of the family, not just someone who happened to come out of the relationship. And they are valued for who they are,not just someone who you can add to your tax deduction at the end of the year. They, unlike American children learn early-on to take care of each other,so you don't have the Me, Me-ism that you find in the always bored,nothing to do American Child. Being an American, and living in both cultures,I know what I am Talking about.

Character traits of Filipinos:

3. Close family ties. The parents support their children with no age limit. They do not force their children to work when they reach the age of eighteen.

5. Religious - There are many festivals observed in the Philippines to celebrate feasts of saints.
6. Hardworking. The farmers, fishermen and vendors work hard to earn their daily meal. There are also many Overseas Contract Workers (OFW) who are willing to take risks with jobs abroad.
