SA AKING MGA KABABATA

In his poem he emphasizes that we should love our own language. Indeed our country has its own language. It serves as a way for us to be more productive. And we owe this from our ancestors who work hard for us, the youth of today. They were the one who taught us about our own language hoping that we will do appreciate and use it in such a way that it may serve the true purpose.

Speaking in our own language gives us the pride of being a true Filipino for we are the only one’s using Tagalog as a means of communication. It is easy to write and be understood. Even though we have lots of dialects in our country which could divide us we still have the Tagalog language to unite us as one.

But now a days, we the youth of today are no longer fluent in speaking our own language. What’s the reason behind? We are very much influence by this foreign language because as they say, we should be competitive and to be more competitive mean we need to learn to speak English, this is why more and more Filipinos became alien in their own country. In education for example, most of our subjects were taught in English instead of our own language. In terms of schools achievements, Philippines is on the bottom part why? Most Filipino youth of today cannot comprehend that’s why DepeD implemented what we call the mother tongue in the elementary hoping to change the status of our education for the better.

And I think it is entitled “Sa Aking mga Kababata or To my Fellow Children” so that whoever will read it specially the youth will be inspired to love their country specially their own language more than anything else.

And Rizal’s poem will serve as to brighten our minds that love of one’s language signifies love of one’s country.
