I personally have a Large Herniated Disc and several other problems with my back and was at one time prescribed Hydrocodone/APAP and Tramadol. Hydrocodone is a pain reliever that is the generic brand of Vicodin and Tramadol the generic brand of Ultram that is used to treat moderate and severe pain and treats neuropathic pain. I mixed the two only after contacting my local 24 hour pharmacy, and they assured me it was safe, but that the mixture of the 2 medications will cause extreme drowsiness. The combination worked pretty well for me. But as always, talk to your doctor(s) and pharmacist prior to taking anything. No, do not mix the two, Tramadol will react to the Flexeril.See your Doctor.________________________________________Yes you can mix. My doctor just gave me those 2 drugs for my tailbone pain. EXACTLY 10mg of Flexeril and 50mg of the Tramadol. I also take Welbutrin so that is safe as well to mix. If it was not safe I doubt she would give it to me. the pain clinic I go to is very conservative with drugs. They give drugs only if you are on some program that uses mind over matter as well. They never give drugs alone AND not for a prolonged period. But as with anything make sure your doc knows about every med you are taking.Flexeril and Tramadol are sometimes combined for moderate for sever back pain. There is an interaction that increases the effect. The combination also has a high risk of seizure and should be monitored carefully. It's worked fine with me. Do not take it with a MAO inhibitor or if you have heart problems. Tramadol and Flexeril are addictive and should only be used for 2-3 weeks. I've been using for 6 months with no issues.
