Durio oxleyanus (1)

This is what is known to the local as one of the few wild / jungle durian species in Borneo.

I am not too sure what is its specific name. Each time I asked the sellers they could only tell me it is a jungle durian. There are a couple of few more types of jungle durian species found here in Sarawak each with its unique outlook, colour, taste and smell. I personally much prefer them to those usual white / cream fleshed ones. I was fortunate enough to go home to Miri, Sarawak when the durian season was still on but almost coming to an end. Dad would buys us durians whenever I am home. I am not a fan of durian but I whenever I am back in my hometown jungle durians is in my must-eat list, because they really taste better than those common ones found everywhere and anywhere easily.

As for this species it is rather small in size, has long sharp spines, smells less prugent and it taste a bit like wine. That is the best I could describe about it.
