As of December 2, 2010 - the Philippines' Secretary of National Defense is Voltaire T. Gazmin. Secretary Gazmin was appointed on June 30, 2010 when President Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III was sworn as the 15th President of the Philippine republic. The current Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines is Lt. Gen. Ricardo David.
